Tuscaloosa County High Grad Picked By President Trump

As a TCHS graduate myself, I consider this a proud day for all Wildcat alums.

President Donald Trump nominated a Northport native to oversee the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Adam Telle grew up in Northport, Alabama, and graduated from Tuscaloosa County High in 2000, after which he attended Mississippi State University, earning degrees in computer science and communication.

Telle now finds himself up for the top civilian post with USACE, a branch of the United States Army.

The military engineering branch has three primary functions: Engineer Regiment, military construction, and civil works.

The workforce is 97% civilian, with the remaining being active duty military.

Currently, Telle works as Chief of Staff for Republican Senator Bill Hagerty of Tennessee. He will remain in his current position until his Senate confirmation hearing takes place.

President Trump is nominating Telle for the job of Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works.

The post has a wide range of responsibilities, with oversight of the Army Corps of Engineers being one of the most vital.
