(today in Tuscaloosa) Alabama put in its second full-pad practice of the week, working for two hours at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields on Wednesday in advance of Saturday’s matchup with Mississippi State.

The Crimson Tide will face Mississippi State at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field on Saturday, Nov. 16. The contest will air at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN with Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay and Molly McGrath on the call.

Also on Wednesday, junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was named one of the 16 semifinalists for the 2019 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. Tagovailoa has 31 touchdowns to rank third in the nation through nine games of the 2019 season. He has those touchdowns on just 166 completions and 234 pass attempts. That averages out to score every 5.4 completions and 7.5 attempts. The three finalists will be announced on Monday, Nov. 25, while the winner will be announced live on ESPN on Thursday, Dec. 12 on the Home Depot College Football Awards in Atlanta, Ga.
