Stillman College President Addressed Tuscaloosa Rotary Club
Stillman College President Dr. Yolanda W. Page delivered her inaugural address to the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club luncheon, held at the Indian Hills Country Club on Tuesday, October 29.
The tradition of Stillman College presidents joining the Tuscaloosa Rotary dates back to the 1980s with Dr. Cordell Wynn. Page has been a member for the past year.
During her address, Page invited the Rotarians to several upcoming events at Stillman College, including Founder's Week from November 3-9, the Candlelight Christmas Choir Concert on December 8, and Homecoming Week scheduled for February 2-9.
In her reintroduction of Stillman College to the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club, she announced that Fall enrollment is at 731 where the “student Profile: Gender (58% female, 42% male), Matriculation (88% full-time, 15% part-time), Residency (69% In-State, 31% Out-of-State).”
Stillman College is the only four-year HBCU in West Alabama where the “teaching ratio is 1:17 and that 40% of faculty is tenured.” The student success rate is 53% of 2024 graduates attend graduate programs, and 31% have secured employment.”
In addition, Stillman College was the “first HBCU to join the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics established by UC Berkeley and MIT.” This also includes being the “first HBCU to host a Google Cybersecurity Clinic, Alabama’s first HBCU charter school partnership.
