
West Alabama Under Extreme Heat Warning Now
Extremely hot temperatures and humid conditions are leading to some very concerning heat index values.

The Extreme Heat Warning indicates that dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of up to 110 are expected. This has been issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham and is in effect until Tuesday, July 29, at 9 p.m.
The warning impacts the following West Alabama counties: Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.
“For some communities, today is the hottest day so far this summer,” James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.

Heat index values as high as 110.
Fayette
Heat index values as high as 110.
Greene
Heat index values as high as 106.
Hale
Heat index values as high as 107.
Lamar
Heat index values as high as 110.
Perry
Heat index values as high as 110.
Pickens
Heat index values as high as 109.
Sumter
Heat index values as high as 109.
Tuscaloosa
Heat index values as high as 109.
Walker
Heat index values as high as 110.
