The Tuscaloosa County Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) will host a Community Food Distribution on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 128 39th St E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.

“Alabama is the fifth poorest state in the nation, with 17% of adults and 23% of children (1 out of 4) facing food insecurity, or lack of regular access to enough nutritious food for an active, healthy life,” said Alabama Public Health.

To help address that issue, the Tuscaloosa County Chapter of the organization invites families in need of food assistance to attend. Please plan to arrive early, as food will be distributed on a “first-come, first-served basis,” said the press release.

Participants Must Complete the Following

  • Recipients must complete registration onsite
  • Recipients Must Have an ID
  • Limited to one distribution per household

“As part of our ongoing commitment to serve humanity and uplift our community, the Tuscaloosa County Chapter SCLC is dedicated to ensuring that no one in our county goes without essential nourishment,” said Reginald Kennedy, Chairman of the Executive Board, Tuscaloosa County Chapter SCLC.

“This initiative reflects our mission to advance social justice, promote equality, and meet the basic needs of our neighbors through service and compassion.”
