Northport Marks Major Milestones in City Development
Yesterday, Thursday, August 21, the City of Northport proudly celebrated two major milestones in its ongoing commitment to community enhancement and infrastructure growth.

The festivities began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Civitan Building, followed by a groundbreaking event for the eagerly awaited Main Avenue Streetscape Project.
Highlighting the importance of these projects, City Council President Christy Bobo expressed gratitude to Public Works, TTL, city staff, and all partners involved who contributed these visions to life.
"These two projects greatly demonstrate how preserving our past propels us into Northport's beautiful future,” said Bobo. We are grateful to the Northport Civitans for their partnerships in keeping the Civitan Club alive and to the partnership with TTL on the Main Avenue Streetscape Project."
According to the press release, “The Civitan Building renovation stands as a testament to the legacy and impact of the Civitan Club within our community. As part of the ceremony, a rendering of the Main Avenue Streetscape Project was unveiled, illustrating the transformative vision for this essential corridor of Northport.”
After the unveiling, attendees participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking, marking the official commencement of the project, which aims to enhance connectivity and revitalize the area.
Glenda Webb spoke on behalf of the City of Northport, stating, "It is our honor to break ground on the Main Avenue Streetscape Project. This investment represents our commitment to revitalization, connectivity, and the future of our community.”
