Multiple Rounds of Severe Weather in the Forecast for Alabama
Get ready for two different rounds of severe weather-- storms are headed for Alabama Thursday and again on Saturday night.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham forecasts a chance for storms Thursday afternoon and into the evening hours. Here's a quick look at the latest forecast graphic from the NWS. Threats Thursday could include tornadoes and damaging winds of up to 60 mph.
Another round of severe storms is expected to impact the state Saturday. The National Weather Service already anticipates this to be a greater threat for Alabama, as most of the state has already been placed in an 'Elevated' threat. The NWS says that they'll more than likely end up placing much of the state under a higher risk area; threats for this round of storms include tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds.
