Early forecast models suggest snow is possible across the Deep South early next week--just in time for Alabama's latest National Championship game.

ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist James Spann says that several forecast models suggest snowfall will be possible over the northern third of Alabama and Mississippi sometime Sunday evening or early Monday (January 11th) morning.

"It is simply too early to know if there will be any significant winter weather with this system; just something to watch. A cold rain is likely for most of the state with amounts around 1/2 inch. We will have much better clarity, of course, as we get closer," Spann said.
