
Memorial Day Alert: Second Wave of Severe Weather Expected in Alabama
Earlier today, parts of Alabama were placed under a Tornado Watch, with some areas escalating to a Tornado Warning. The initial wave of severe storms caused significant damage across the state.
Now, we are focused on a second wave of possible severe weather for our area.
Second Wave Highlights
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “Additional thunderstorms will form this afternoon, mainly over the southern 2/3 of the state, as a cold front approaches. It won't rain everywhere, but where storms do form, they could be strong to severe. The threats will come from strong, straight-line winds and hail.”

Tuscaloosa – A portion of the county is under a “marginal” risk
Walker – No Severe Weather Expected

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, the overall timing for the second wave is between Noon and 9 p.m.
For the Townsquare Media Coverage area, we are in the Noon to 4 p.m. time zone.
