Meet The Most Unusual Pet In West Alabama
You are not gonna believe this one.
I thought it was a joke the first time I heard the name of this creature.

I didn't believe it was real.
Now, I have seen it with my own two eyes and I know it's real.
You are about to meet the ONLY one in West Alabama. Well, the fact is it's one of a handful in our state.
The craziest thing to me is that it was purchased in Northport, Alabama.
It came from the coolest little pet store in town, Sounds Fishy: Aquatics & Exotics on Main Avenue in Northport.
A wonderful lady named Keri Ball owns the store and can find any exotic pet your heart desires. And when she says ANY, she means ANY exotic creature you can imagine.
She challenges folks to order those that seem hard to find in Alabama, and she will make it happen.
The little creature that we're talking about?
A pygmy marmoset.
Or, better known as a "finger monkey".
Are you ready to see this adorable little thing?
Or lady, I should say.
Here's a quick peek at Tuscaloosa's only "finger monkey".
They call them "finger monkeys" because they are literally as big as your finger.
This little one is named "Murphy Jane" and belongs to a lovely lady called Cyndi Brown.
Cyndi works for Holt High School and is rumored to be the boyfriend of one of the writers of this story. (Hint, she's dating the hot one)
Wait, this is supposed to be about a little monkey. My bad.
How about another photo of the "finger monkey"?
These little monkeys are native to the rainforests of the western Amazon Basin in South America.
These primates are known for their distinction as the smallest monkeys in the entire world at just over 3 ounces.
Have you ever seen anything more adorable than this little monkey?
West Alabama's first "finger monkey" is here thanks to the folks at Sounds Fishy: Aquatics & Exotics in Northport, Alabama.
More on this and other exotic pets in West Alabama are coming soon.
