Alabama Secrets: Fast Food Chain Employees Tell It All
I've got a secret.
Well, actually I don't have a secret, but someone we all know has a big secret.
This place definitely has strong ties to our home state of Alabama.
Let's look at the facts.
FACTS DON'T LIE:
Alabama is home to 279 McDonald's restaurants across our fine state.
Roughly, this adds up to almost 6 restaurants per 100,000 Alabamians.
Which state has the most Alabama locations?
This one is pretty easy because only a couple of choices are on the table.
And, yes, it is in California. McDonald's locations number in the thousands out in the Golden state.
EMPLOYEES UNITE AND TELL IT ALL!
According to delish, top level employees have decided to spill the beans on secrets that corporate Mickey D's would rather stay hidden forever.
One of the employees is a lead chef in the McDonald's test kitchens.
Here comes some of the secrets:
1. Best eggs are ON the McMuffin! Those little round eggs are FRESH-CRACKED eggs, according to the test kitchen chef.
2. SOME McDonald's locations sell BIRTHDAY CAKES!
What??? Yes, some Mickey D's sell vanilla and chocolate B-Day cakes.
I've received intel as I report this story that the Northport, Alabama location in front of Publix, has done birthday cakes for customers
3. The straws are what make McD's Coke taste really good!
It sounds crazy, but the straws are wider at McD's, and the Coca-Cola recipe is a tad different
4. The TRUTH about the ICE CREAM machines!
It's a running joke that the ice cream machines never work. According to the insiders it's about the complicated manner in which employees are required to clean the machines.
Not many workers know how to safely clean the ice cream machines, so it is done by a few select folks at odd times and that causes the machines to be out of order.
5. There is no ketchup in Big Mac Sauce! McD's doesn't truly have a secret menu.
Paprika is what gives Big Mac sauce its color. Even though they don't have a "secret menu" like many places have become famous for, McD's wants to have all nutrition info available for anything they sell.
But, you can "hack" the McD's menu. Like adding Big Mac sauce to the filet-o-fish and subbing out patties for bacon slices on the BM and adding a tomato to craft a McD BLT!
WAIT! I just had flashbacks to the 1980s and the McDLT. Remember that one?
