New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones returned to Atlanta on Thursday, where he led Alabama to their seventh SEC Championship of the Nick Saban era last December.

Against the Falcons, he completed 22-of-26 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown as the Patriots won their fifth consecutive game. Jones became the first rookie quarterback to complete 80% of his passes in back-to-back games.

"It was a good team win and the defense stepped up and played really well," Jones said. "The goal is to score one more point than the other team and we were lucky enough to do that. It's really hard to win in the NFL and you can't take anything for granted. You just have to watch the film and get better, but at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is scoring one more point than the other team."

On the Patriots second possession of the game, Jones went 76 yards on seven plays and capped it off with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor. It was New England’s only touchdown series of the game. The former Alabama quarterback went 14-of-15 for 136 yards and one touchdown, completing a pass to seven different players in the first half.

"I like the way he plays and I enjoy getting to play with him," Patriots offensive lineman David Andrews said. "He did a great job tonight."

Jones became the third rookie quarterback to win in his first five road starts, joining Dak Prescott and Ben Roethlisberger. The former Alabama quarterback is currently the betting favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban spoke Jones during in a Thursday press conference. "He really understands football,” said Saban. “He's accurate with the ball. He's easy to coach. I think he's a really good fit for where he is. ... I think that's the kind of system that he thrives in. So I'm not surprised that he's doing as well as he’s doing."

The Patriots will return to action next Sunday, Nov. 28 against the Tennessee Titans. Kickoff is set for 12pm CT and will air on CBS.
