Kane Brown has rescheduled a show originally scheduled for Friday (Oct. 18) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The country star planned to headline a 20th anniversary concert for the venue, but the show has been rescheduled for Jan. 9, 2020.

"I want to thank everyone for your outpouring of support and understanding and working with us as we reschedule the @STAPLESCenter 20th anniversary show that was scheduled for October 18, 2019," Brown wrote on Twitter. "... Thank you for your thoughts and prayers."

The rescheduled show comes on the heels of a difficult few days for the singer. Early on Saturday (Oct. 12), his drummer and longtime band member Kenny Dixon died following a one-car accident outside of Nashville, Tenn. After learning the news, Brown shared a remembrance of Dixon on social media that highlighted their long, close relationship.

"You started all of this with me from the start in 2015 when nobody else believed we would make it out of Chattanooga playing for 500 people," Brown wrote. "Your last show was in an Fn [sic] stadium my guy. I know you will be watching over us with that redneck accent that we all love and you will never be replaced bro!!!"

On Monday (Oct. 14), the Tennessee Highway Patrol shared additional details about the crash, citing speed as a factor. THP Lt. Charlie Caplinger reports that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to have played a role in the accident, and no criminal charges have been filed in relation to the tragedy.

"Kenny was a member of our family from the very beginning, and our hearts are with his fiancée Sarah, his son and everyone who knew and loved him," reads a statement from Brown's team. "He was truly one of the greatest and kindest people on and off stage we’ve ever known.”

Per Dixon's obituary, a celebration of life will be held for Dixon on Sunday (Oct. 20) at 3PM local time at Dalton's Crosspointe Church, followed by a burial at the nearby West Hill Cemetery. A wake will take place on Saturday (Oct. 19) at Crosspointe Church, from 5PM until 9PM.
