It was not a good night for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. In perhaps the worst he has looked in a pro game to date, Hurts and the Eagles looked completely overmatched and fell 41-21 to their division rival Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Dallas, bringing their record to 1-2.

Hurts and the offense struggled all night, with Hurts throwing two particularly poor interceptions, the first of which being a bad under throw while targeting Jalen Reagor on a deep ball near the end zone early in the first quarter.

Early in the second half, Hurts' former Alabama teammate Trevon Diggs jumped DeVonta Smith's route and took it all the way back for six to essentially put the game out of reach and put the Cowboys up 27-7.

One thing we know about Hurts going all the way back to his days at Alabama are that his leadership qualities are nothing short of outstanding. After the game, he was very quick to take on all of the blame for a loss in which the Eagles entire team played poorly and sloppily as well as poor coaching from the staff. Philadelphia took 13 total penalties for 86 yards.

“I didn’t execute. I didn’t execute. I didn’t do a good enough job of leading. I didn't do a good enough job of running our offense. This one is on me. This one is on me," said Hurts in his postgame.

Hurts made an interesting comparison for the loss, referring to it as a "deuce" that you need to simple "flush and move on from."

The road will not get any easier for Hurts and the Eagles upon their return to Philadelphia next week. Philadelphia will host the defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday as they try to get their season back on track.
