I have to start by first apologizing to my wife. Not because of infidelity, not because I forgot our anniversary or anything like that.

I have to apologize because I've been teasing her for years for believing that she felt an earthquake in Alabama during our first year living here back in 2019. The vibration she felt was me shaking the bed with my leg, but she believed it was an earthquake.

Not being familiar with Alabama, she got scared and yelled "Baby it's an earthquake!"

I laughed and told her, Earthquakes don't happen in Alabama, that was my leg shaking the bed."

It's been a running joke in our household since then but as of 2024, I can confirm that Aabama can have an earthquake. It happened recently.

According to the Geological Survey of Alabama, the largest known earthquake in Alabama happened in October 1916 in northern Shelby County. Geologists estimate the magnitude was about 5.1.

WPMI reports that Alabama recently had a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. The quake struck between Stevenson and Bridgeport in Northeast Alabama at 3:21 am 2.7 miles northeast of Stevenson, AL.

People have been speaking about multiple earthquakes in Alabama over the last few years.

There were no reports of damage from the 2.3 magnitude earthquake.

Did you feel or hear about the Bama quake 2024?
