The big ratings "sweep" tells us who is getting the most ears and eyes in our part of Alabama.

Ratings points represent thousands of dollars in advertising revenue in the Tuscaloosa market, as well as Birmingham and the entire region.

Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa has the dominating upper hand in the battle for listeners across West Alabama in the latest Fall 2025 data.

When you look at one of the prime demographics for advertisers, Persons 25-54, Monday-Sunday 6a-12m, Townsquare Media holds 28.2 % of the pie with iHeartMedia claiming 6.2% of the total audience.

Townsquare Media also has four of the top five stations in that same 25-54 demographic.

Several personalities stand out in the local market report:

Mary K. (WTUG-FM AND WFFN-FM), The Big Dawg Dre Day & Comedian L.P. (WALJ-FM and WTUG-FM), Brother J (WTSK-AM), Steve & DC (WFFN-FM), and The Late Afternoon Show with DC, Holli & Brother Scott (WQRR-FM) all drew large audience figures in the Fall report.

In the rankings all day for ages 12 and up, Urban AC WTUG-FM (92.9) was #1, with Hip Hop WALJ-FM (105.1) in the #2 slot, up by a significant margin.

Next was Gospel WTSK-AM (93.3FM/790AM), Country WTXT-FM (98.1), Country WFFN-FM (95.3), and Top 40 WZBQ-FM (94.1).

WTUG-FM (92.9), which hosts Ricky SmileyMary K., and Dre Day, had big ratings wins among Adults 18-49 and 25-54 in the metro Tuscaloosa report.

Two-time Alabama Broadcasters Association Station Of The Year, WALJ-FM (105.1), had big numbers with Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 in mornings and during the midday (at work) slot in metro Tuscaloosa. The Big Dawg Dre Day & Comedian L.P. were just behind WTUG-FM with WZBQ-FM in third place. During the workday, Comedian L.P. had a huge win with his own show, #1 Adults 18-34, with a giant 16.0 rating. Extra note, The Big Dawg Dre Day & Comedian L.P. were recently nominated for a prestigious Marconi Award by the National Association of Broadcasters in the "Best Morning Show" category.
