Malachi Moore spoke to the media following Alabama's loss to Vanderbilt, where he addressed his actions on the field at the end of the game, and sent a message to defensive Kane Wommack.

"I just think sometimes we get the call in a little late, so it gives us a little anxiety of not knowing what the offense is gonna run or adjusting to their formations," Moore said. "But Coach Wo, that's kind of was his style of calling - wanting to put us in a perfect position. He knows we're at Bama now, and he has a lot of pieces. He doesn't have to compensate for anything and as long as he gives us the call and allows us to get our feet in the dirt, we're gonna be great."

"from the D-line all the way back to the secondary" have wanted to receive play calls sooner. We feel like if we just get the call in just a little bit quicker, it gives us time to line up and go with the man in front of us," he said."

Has the loss to Vanderbilt caused division in the locker room? Not according to Moore, a fifth-year senior in the defensive backfield, "There's not a lot of pointing fingers going," and "everybody is kind of checking themselves - what could I have done better, from coaches to players. I think that's important for everybody to take accountability and not trying to say it was his fault or his fault. We're all in this together, win or lose."

Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack was included in that, "Coach Wo, he's been doing a great job of coming in and taking accountability on his part," Moore said. "And the coaches and on the players, too, showing us how we didn't fit stuff right or what we messed up at. Also telling us the good we did do in the game. I think everybody, like I said, is being very accountable of what happened Saturday and definitely working very hard to never let it happen again."

Alabama's defense has been a point of concern and conversation following a 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt. If the defense turns around and shines this season, it'll be contributed to by Malachi Moore's leadership.

Moore also apologized once again for his on-field actions, and to Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, "I hit him up on Instagram the other day, just let him know, my bad," Moore said, adding that he told Pavia he was not trying to be malicious on the play and the "game got away from me."

Pavia "hit me back" and, "we're cool," Moore said.
