Following the Alabama Crimson Tide's 73-point victory over the University of Louisiana Monroe, standout receiver Germie Bernard spoke to the media about the team's mindset coming into this game after last week's disappointing 31-17 loss to Florida State.

Bernard was asked about how it felt to wash away that loss from last week in such a dominating fashion, to which he responded, "It all goes back to how Alabama football plays, so just you know, guys were pissed off during the week getting ready for the game, and that's just something that we have to uphold." Bernard added, "I mean, this game was really, really good for us, but we have to go back to the drawing board and do it again."

The senior wide receiver played a crucial role in the offense's impressive 73-point performance against Louisiana Monroe. Bernard recorded three receptions for 67 yards and two receiving touchdowns in Saturday's victory. He has made a strong start to the season following his outstanding 147-yard performance last Saturday in the Tide's loss to the Seminoles.

Alabama's offense was dominant in this matchup. The Crimson Tide amassed 583 yards during Saturday's victory, with 371 of those yards coming through the air. This resulted in three different quarterbacks, each throwing multiple touchdowns (Ty Simpson 3, Austin Mack 2, and Keelon Russell 2). This performance was a stark contrast to the previous week, when the Tide struggled offensively for most of the game. Apart from the opening drive of their loss to Florida State, the Tide scored with ease on an impressive 17-play drive that culminated in a touchdown.

When asked what the key to sustaining momentum was in Saturday's win, Bernard replied, "Just sustaining the energy that we come out with, like last week, we came out first drive, I felt like we were really good, but we weren't able to sustain that." Bernard said, "Staying on the field on like third downs and converting that is going to help us be successful, and that's something that we worked really hard on during the week."

Alabama was exceptionally efficient on third and fourth downs in this game, converting 9-12 on third downs and going 2-2 on fourth down in its 73-point blowout over Louisiana Monroe.

Bernard concluded his conversation with the media by discussing his teammate Austin Mack, the Tide's backup quarterback. Mack entered the game at the start of the second quarter and performed exceptionally well, driving 39 yards in six plays to score a touchdown. Mack went on to play some more in the second half, finishing the game by completing 8-10 passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

Bernard said when asked about Mack, "Him (Austin Mack) and Ty are probably the first ones in the building. Austin is one of the last ones to leave the building, like he's always consistent within his work and his preparation, and you know it just goes to show what you put into this game is what you're going to get out of it.".

Alabama will prepare to take on Wisconsin this Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 p.m. CT at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
