Dylan Lonergan, a 4-star recruit and the 11th ranked quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class according to 247Sports's Composite Rankings, signed his national letter of intent to join the Alabama Crimson Tide football program Wednesday.

Lonergan, who played for Brookwood High School in Snellville, Ga., committed to Alabama in July after his official visit in June. Lonergan had offers from several other schools including South Carolina and Stanford.

Lonergan threw for 7,893 yards and 72 touchdowns while also rushing for over 1,300 yards with 16 rushing touchdowns through his four years at Brookwood.

Lonergan stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 215 pounds, and is known as a pocket-passer that can make plays with his feet when needed.

According to 247Sports's Andrew Ivins, Lonergan is a "big-armed passer that isn't afraid to stand his ground in the pocket and take a hit." Ivins says that Lonergan is not a run-first quarterback, but "can improvise when plays break down."

Lonergan also pitched for Brookwood's baseball team and can throw a 90 mph fastball with plans of playing for the Crimson Tide baseball team, as well.

With Bryce Young nearing the end of his junior year at Alabama, and most likely entering the NFL draft, Lonergan comes to a Crimson Tide program that will be looking for the next starting quarterback. He will have a chance to compete to fill that spot.
