Alabama softball has watched the SEC tournament from the sidelines for the first two days after securing a top-four seed with a 47-6 overall and 19-5 SEC record during the regular season. The top four seeds earned a double-bye in this week's SEC softball tournament in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Crimson Tide's first game will come on Thursday, May 7, at 1:00 p.m. CT, and after watching Mississippi State and Arkansas play on their side of the bracket, the Crimson Tide now knows that it will face the Arkansas Razorbacks in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Razorbacks defeated Mississippi State X-X in the second round of the SEC tournament on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Alabama took the series during the regular season against the Razorbacks, winning game one 4-1 and game three 4-1. The Crimson Tide suffered its first loss of conference play in game two against the Razorbacks, falling 14-9 on March 14. The Razorbacks were the No. 8 team in the country at the time, but a tough schedule for Arkansas limited them to the No. 7-seed in the SEC tournament. Arkansas had to play the top four seeds in the SEC tournament during the regular season: Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas, and Florida. The Razorbacks faced Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas on the road, while they got the Gators at home. They lost the series against Oklahoma and Alabama, but won the series against Florida and Texas.

 

2-seed Alabama will face 7-seed Arkansas in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament on Thursday, May 7, at 1:00 CT. The game will be broadcast on TV on the SEC Network and on radio on Catfish 100.1.
