Alabama Center Officially Suspended by League Office
Alabama center Mohamed Wague has been officially suspended for one game after committing a "fighting act" during the Tide's nailbiter victory over the Florida Gators Wednesday night.
"After video review in the conference office, it was determined that Wague committed the fighting act of striking Florida's Alex Condon in the back of the head with his elbow/forearm with 9:25 remaining to play in the first half of Wednesday's game." the SEC stated.
It was reported earlier today that Wague was likely facing suspension.
Wague will ride the bench for Alabama's matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats, a pivotal matchup in the SEC title race.
Alabama HC Nate Oats released a statement shortly after the SEC office's announcement.
In addition to missing Wague, Alabama's Latrell Wrightsell Jr.'s availability for Saturday's matchup is unclear. Oats stated that Wrightsell Jr. was day-to-day after missing the Florida game yesterday.
