Interstate Construction to Close a Portion of Skyland Boulevard This Weekend

Get ready for more roadwork.

ALDOT will begin lane closures as part of the project to demolish the eastbound bridge on Interstate 20/59 at Exit 76. Eastbound traffic will shift onto the new bridge span tonight, and limited duration lane closures will occur during the shift. Two lanes will remain open on the interstate, including entrance and exit ramps, in both directions once the shift is completed. Skyland Boulevard directly under the interstate will be closed in both directions this weekend, law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
