Hillcrest, ACA, & Gordo Advance

For the second year in a row Gordo beat T.R. Miller by 1 run to advance to round 3.  Gordo lost game 1, then scored 18 runs in game 2 to force an incredible game 3 this weekend.  Prior to that 18 run game T.R. Miller had allowed only 3 runs in 3 playoff games.

This video shows #14 Pounders (also the starting pitcher) at the plate and #5 Collin Herring scoring the winning run as Gordo wins 4-3 and the crowd goes crazy!

I met Nick Pounders in shoulder rehab, we had both had surgery.  Nick's hard work ethic both impressed and motivated me personally in my rehabilitation.  It was nice to see him bring the gas as Gordo upset #1 T.R. Miller in a pitchers duel 4-3.

Gordo travels to face Geneva in round 3 and it's all about the "G" in Gordo this week.  Gordo is a great place to enjoy a baseball game, the fans are great, the kids display good sportsmanship and they WIN the right way.  The fact is, a T.R. Miller fan that travel 4 hours left game 3 wearing a hat with a "G" on it and told me "I'm now a Gordo fan for life!"  Coach Jonathan Pate talks Gordo Baseball today at 3:30pm & 6:30pm on todays Wild Bill Show on 95.3 The Bear!

Hillcrest & ACA both advance to round 3 and are 4-0 in the playoffs so far.  ACA travels south to take on Mobile Christian who is also 4-0.  Hillcrest has outscored opponents in the playoffs 52-5 and travel to Chelsea this week.  GO PATS - GO ACA - GO GORDO!
