According to AL.com, Henry Ruggs III suffered an injury to his thigh while helping a friend move. Ruggs's father told the Birmingham publication that his son was OK but the was pinned against a car and had his thigh punctured while he was helping a friend move.

According to 247Sports, Ruggs III was very fortunate to not have a more serious injury. The puncture in Ruggs's thigh was reportedly very close to his femoral artery, which, if struck could have been fatal.

The wide receiver out of Alabama was the first receiver drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft this past April. The Las Vegas Raiders picked him with the 12th overall pick, he largely rose up NFL Draft boards due to his impressive speed and explosion. Ruggs III ran a 4.27 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in February, the fastest time turned in this year.

The Raiders, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, released a statement on the injury.

“The Raiders are aware of a report regarding an off-field injury to Henry Ruggs III. Respecting Henry’s right to medical privacy, the team will not be commenting on the report."

Ruggs III, from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, AL pulled in 98 career receptions for 1,716 yards and 24 touchdowns in his college career. He also took two career carries for 75 yards and one touchdown.

He left Alabama with one National Championship and one SEC Championship.
