According to WSFA in Mobile, all public beaches in Gulf Shores are closed following another drowning along the Alabama gulf coast. Double red flags have been posted by the city to signify the extreme danger from the ocean waters.

The city took action following a fourth drowning in just 24 hours. WSFA reports the identities of two drowning victims:

Baldwin County Coroner Stanley Vinson says 25-year-old Matthew Hattaway of Bossier, La., was pronounced dead about 3 p.m. Sunday. A relative spotted him floating in the surf.

Vinson says 51-year-old John Hogue of Overland Park, Kan., died on the beach a few hours later. He had been swimming and was pulled from the surf unconscious.

Vinson says the third person disappeared in the water and hadn't been found Monday.

Sources also told WSFA that the fourth victim was a grandfather who went into the water to save his granddaughter but that is unconfirmed.

There has been no word on when the beaches will re-open.
