Frigid Start to Alabama’s First Day of Meteorological Winter
Today is the first day of the meteorological winter. For many Alabamians, yesterday was the first time they turned on the heat in their homes. The temperature shift was a tad bit shocking to some.
Don’t let the sunshine today fool you. It will be cold. We had a sub-freezing start on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. For West Alabama, you can expect a high near 49 degrees with plenty of sunshine. Also, there is a west wind of 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight might be colder than last night. Potential lows will be around 24-26 degrees. Also, you can expect mostly clear skies with calm winds.
