Fresh New ‘Fits for Four Former Bama Stars

The National Football League’s Washington, DC franchise has officially rebranded to be the Washington Commanders after two seasons as the Washington Football Team.

The Commanders are currently tied with the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New England Patriots for having the most Alabama players on their roster, per 247 Sports. So, for Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, Landon Collins, and Cam Sims, it’s time for new uniforms.

In various graphics released Wednesday morning, the Commanders unveiled three new uniforms: an all-white one, an all-burgundy one, and a blackout uniform.

Jonathan Allen can be seen sporting the new Washington Commanders black out uniforms in the team’s photos and Tide fans will be able to see all four former Bama stars in the new threads on Sundays this fall.

Former Crimson Tide great Jonathan Allen was among the players on site at FedEx Field today for the official announcement. As one of the leaders of the locker room, he was asked about the player’s reaction to the new name and uniforms by MSNBC’s Craig Melvin. Allen responded, “Kinda like the internet, it was 50/50. Half loved it, half didn’t.”

Allen seems confident that the portion of the locker room who seemed less than thrilled will get with the program. His support for the rebrand will go a long way as Allen is firmly planted as a leader in the organization.

“It’s hard to love something when you only hear the name. You have to see the name, see the uniforms, see the environment, see the culture. It’s more than just a name, it’s a whole rebrand for this entire organization. So the name is just a part of what we are and what we’re gonna be moving forward."
