Busy mom Kate Gosselin, former TLC reality television star, has parted ways from her job as celebrity coupon blogger for CouponCabin.com. Although professional break-ups aren’t new, what’s interesting about this parting is the strong language CouponCabin’s CEO and founder Scott Kluth used to announced their partnership had ended, according to TMZ.com.

In an open letter published on his website, Kluth explained: "A series of recent events have made it clear to me that Kate Gosselin and her contributions do not align with the authenticity which we set out to build almost a decade ago. Ms. Gosselin is simply not a good fit with the wonderful team and culture at CouponCabin. We wish Kate, her family and her support staff all the best."

No response from Kate yet, but clearly Gosselin’s absence will resonate long after CouponCabin’s announcement that they’ll no longer be working together.

In honor of the Kate Plus 8’s contribution to frugal families everywhere, some of her recent money-saving suggestions include:

* Buying a swimming pool to cut costs associated with family memberships at community pools.

* Saving your swimsuits at the end of each season.

* Reusing household items.

* Teaching kids the value of a dollar.

Wow, I’m almost embarrassed to post the budgeting tips I’ve picked up along the way:

* Don’t eat out every night of the week.

* Turn the air conditioning off when you’re not home.

* Clip coupons from the Sunday paper.

* Turn the lights off when you exit a room.

* Reseal the chips when you’re finished or they’ll get stale.

* Don’t drive 120 mph (close enough, right?) to get better gas mileage.

* If your budget only allows for a brief stay at the Holiday Inn , don’t book a room at the Hilton.

As I’m watching a large backhoe break ground on my new swimming pool, I’ll dream of ways to spend the extra money Kate’s savvy saving ideas have helped add to our family’s coffers.
