Former Alabama Gymnastics Coach Named Vice President of Supply Chain Solutions For Tuscaloosa Based Company
In May, Alabama gymnastics legend Dana Duckworth decided to step down from her role in the program as head coach. Duckworth was involved with Crimson Tide gymnastics as a competitor, volunteer, assistant coach and even head coach but decided after 27 years it was time to move into something different.
On Tuesday, Duckworth and her new company revealed what her next step will be.
AFFLINK, a Tuscaloosa-based supply chain management company announced that Duckworth will be hired to serve as the Vice President of Supply Chain Solutions, starting officially on Friday, Aug. 12.
"Dana's passion, mindset, and positivity, along with a fresh perspective from her recent career as an NCAA Division 1 Head Gymnastics Coach, will positively impact AFFLINK's next chapter of growth and success," says AFFLINK President and CEO Dennis Riffer. "We are all strong believers that Dana's competitive mindset that led her to become a 2x NCAA Balance Beam Champion and her head coaching experience are more than transferable to our business."
Duckworth will help AFFLINK continue to connect more than 200 suppliers of packaging, janitorial, safety, food service, office and MRO procurement solutions with almost 300 independent distribution experts.
"For me, it's a blessing to join AFFLINK and work for a subsidiary of a Fortune® 500 company, Performance Food Group (PFGC)," said Duckworth. "It is an exciting time to be a part of AFFLINK. The company is expanding tremendously, and I look forward to joining such a successful organization.“
Duckworth currently also serves on the Board of Directors for the Tuscaloosa Safe Center, a counseling service for those who have experienced sexual assault.
