EXCLUSIVE: Druid City Arts Festival Returns to Tuscaloosa May 14th and 15th
Tuscaloosa's beloved Druid City Arts Festival is scheduled to make a triumphant return to Government Plaza later this spring.
Now in its 12th year, DCAF showcases local artists and musicians in a two-day event held in downtown Tuscaloosa. The Druid City Arts Festival will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 14 and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 15.
The novel Coronavirus pandemic cancelled DCAF 2020, and event organizers are eagerly awaiting the festival's return.
"We are so excited to bring the Druid City Arts Festival back to town," said Michelle McClinton Smart, Special Events Operations Manager for the City of Tuscaloosa.
Smart said her team has been especially focused on keeping DCAF safe for attendees.
"Safety is our first priority," Smart said. "All exhibits will be properly socially-distanced, and we're limiting spaces for mass gatherings. We're also focused on ensuring all food is delivered in a safe manner."
Smart said this year's Druid City Arts Festival has already confirmed 72 artists will be in attendance. The event will also feature live music, and the City of Tuscaloosa is currently taking applications for performers for DCAF and its annual "Live at the Plaza" concert series.
