On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM, the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama will celebrate a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of the Jaycee Park Clubhouse renovation. According to a press release sent to Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, this event marks the beginning of Phase 1 of a larger initiative, A Legacy of Hope: The Campaign for Local Youth.

Located in the heart of Tuscaloosa and serving as the flagship site since its opening in 1972, the Jaycee Park Clubhouse has provided a safe space for thousands of children and teens. However, after over five decades of service, the facility is in need of extensive updates to offer modern technology, inspiring spaces, and a more welcoming environment for youth.

Kim Turner, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama, expressed her excitement, stating, “We want our children and teens to have a place they can be proud of. This renovation is a critical step toward ensuring our facilities match the high standards they deserve.”

As part of the ongoing A Legacy of Hope campaign, the goal is to raise $5 million to fund this project and expand programs for local youth. So far, $1.4 million has been raised, thanks to generous community support.
