Alabama's unemployment rate is the lowest it's been in almost 10 years!  May 2017 dropped to 4.9 percent, the lowest rate in the state since March 2008.

Gov. Kay Ivey says "It's down almost a full percentage point since March, when the rate was 5.8 percent. It was also 5.8 percent in May 2016."

The national rate is 4.3 percent, currently a 16-year low.
