The noise emanating in the Hoover Met was not the sound of thunder from a pending storm but instead the clap of Tennessee bats. Just two days after losing to the Crimson Tide in extra-innings, Tennessee hammered the Crimson Tide 11-0 to eliminate Alabama from the SEC Tournament in just seven innings.

The Crimson Tide, starting Landon Green in its fourth consecutive day of play, were unable to slow the Vols down. Green gave up the game's first six runs of the game less than three frames into the game. In total he allowed five hits and six runs in just 2.1 innings of work. The sophomore did strike out one batter in his outing.

Evan Russell and Luc Lipcius led the Vols from the plate, Russell went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs, Lipcius went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs. Each Vol batter hit a homerun to advance the Vols into Saturday's semifinals.

Tennessee pitched freshman Blade Tidwell and he was nothing short of sensational. Alabama was able to muster just two hits from the plate, both coming off the bat of senior catcher Sam Praytor. Tidwell went six scoreless innings, striking out five batters and allowing just the two aforementioned hits along with two walks. Max Ferguson was also 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Junior Connor Shamblin was brought into the game in relief of Green in the third inning. He gave up five runs on six hits while striking out five batters, Green gave up homeruns to Russell, Ferguson and Liam Spence.

Alabama is now eliminated from the SEC Tournament, the Tide won games over South Carolina and Tennessee while losing to Florida and Tennessee. Alabama will turn its eyes to Monday as the NCAA Tournament field will be selected. The Crimson Tide is currently on the bubble for selection for an NCAA Regional.
