According to Fox News, they have found that hackers are employing a new virus named NodeStealer to illicitly obtain users' cookies and passwords. It is a malicious code, that operates on JavaScript and Node.js, stealthily collects data from web browsers, and leverages it to compromise Facebook accounts.

The Attack Compromise Users’ Privacy and Security

While the initial purpose of the stealer was to target web browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera for hijacking cookie sessions, as well as compromising Facebook accounts, threat actors have been actively enhancing the malware throughout the year to include additional functionalities, said Bitdefender.
