Three of the five players returning to the team this year have made number changes. Jahvon Quinerly, who decided to return for his senior season after tearing his ACL in the team’s final game against Notre Dame, has changed his number from No. 13 to No. 5. Jaden Shackelford held No. 5 last season, but his departure to the NBA allows Quinerly to don the number.

Charles Bediako and Noah Gurley have also decided to change numbers. Bediako will switch from No. 10 to No. 14, which was held by Keon Ellis last season. Gurley makes the switch from No. 0 to No. 4, held by Juwan Gary last season, who has now transferred to Nebraska.

For the incoming transfers, guard Mark Sears from Ohio will wear No. 1, and guard Dominick Welch from St. Bonaventure will wear No. 10. Welch will wear the number to honor the 10 victims from the attack in Buffalo, N.Y., in May.

The other newcomers to Nate Oats’s squad will wear the following: Jaden Bradley will wear No. 0; Rylan Griffen will wear No. 3; Noah Clowney will wear No. 15; Nick Pringle will wear No. 23, and Brandon Miller will wear No. 24.
