Aaron Edges Herndon in Northport Mayor’s Runoff

Former Northport City Council president and educator Donna Aaron has been elected as the new Mayor of Northport, defeating two-term incumbent Bobby Herndon in the runoff race. Aaron edged out Herndon by just 24 votes.

Herndon managed 1320 votes Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough. 1344 votes went to Aaron, giving her 51% of the vote. The general election had six candidates.
