In the final week before the softball season begins the preseason polls, lists and teams are still being released.

On Thursday, Feb. 4 the SEC announced its annual Preseason All-SEC Softball Team.

Montana Fouts (P), Alexis Mack (OF) and KB Sides (OF) will be representing the Tide.

This is the first time Mack and Sides are appearing on the team. But it is the second appearance for Fouts. She was named to the Preseason All-SEC Team in 2020.

LSU has four players, the most, on the team this season. Alabama and Arkansas both have three. Mississippi State and Tennessee follow with two. Missouri wraps up the roster with one player named to the preseason team.

Here's how the voting works: According to the SEC website, "The Preseason All-SEC Softball Team is voted on by the league's head coaches and consists of a minimum of 14 players. Each SEC head coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one designated player/utility."

Voting ties were not broken.
