What A Way To Say Merry Christmas

My wife and I were in a local antique shop last week and I spotted this hanging in a frame on the wall.

Can you imagine and ad like this hanging in your local Walmart today? People would pass out. I was inspired to Google vintage cigarette ads and found a website with lots of old ads.

Amazing really.  In some of the vintage ads along with Santa Clause, Ronald Reagan and John Wayne and even soldiers endorsed certain smokes. One ad declares that "More Doctor's Smoke Camels". How would you feel if your doctor walked in the exam room with a cig dangling from his lips?!

I remember my grandparents had those ash trays that were designed to look like a piece of furniture that stood at the side of your couch or chair.

Everyone smoked back then and now smoking is banned in most every public place and have giant health warning labels from the surgeon general.

Funny how times change!
