Triple-Digit Heat Index Triggers Heat Advisory in West Alabama
Areas that are still facing serious and dangerous temperatures include the East, Midwest, and Southern regions. However, the Midwest and Northeast will find relief soon, but not the South.

Due to the forecasted dangerous heat, the National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Heat Advisory, effective Tuesday, July 29, at 9 p.m. and lasting until Wednesday, July 30, at 9 p.m.
Extreme heat and high humidity significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. Prolonged exposure to these conditions can lead to serious health complications, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Weather Experiment: It’s So Hot You Can Bake a Cake
My mother had a funny saying, “It’s so hot, I bet we could bake a cake outside.” Well, maybe not a cake, but probably could fry an egg or bake some cookies. While the kids are still out for summer break, that might be a fun “at-home” science project.
Wet Weather – Possible Storms
“There will be daily chances for showers and thunderstorms, with the highest chances towards the end of the week as a cold front moves into the area,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham. “Severe weather is not forecast at this time, but a few strong storms could produce gusty winds.”
