Alabama football had fans, players and even Nick Saban emotional on Iron Bowl Saturday, but {thankfully} it had nothing to do with their play against Auburn. Prior to the game, Alabama's seniors were honored in their final home game of their career - including Lawrence Erekosima, a walk-on, scout-team running back.

Erekosima was the final senior to be announced and at that moment his mother, who had been away from the family serving in the military, ran onto the field to surprise him with a big hug. Saban was asked about the moment after the game:

“He’s a fine young man. He’s been in the program for a long time,” Saban said. “I have a special place in my heart for all the guys. All the star guys get the ovations, they get to play, they get accolades, they get nominated for awards. A lot of (the walk-ons), they play their game on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday helping the rest of the players get ready for the game. Lawrence is one of those guys who’s done a phenomenal job. For his mother to be able to come today almost made me cry."
