The Alabama Crimson Tide has been picking up major steam on the recruiting trail with the 2023 class. The Tide has picked up six of its 14 commitments in the month of July and Alabama currently lays claim to the No. 9 recruiting class according to 247Sports.

On June 20 the Tide pulled in one of the top offensive tackles in class in Northridge High School's Wilkin Formby. Formby, a Tuscaloosa native, wasted zero time becoming one of the leaders on the recruiting front for the Crimson Tide.

Formby has been highly active on social media pitching and tagging some of the Tide's primary targets. Here are some of the prospects Formby has been after.

Raymond Pulido is a 6-foot-6, 345 pound offensive guard out of St. John Bosco High School in California. He's considered a 3-star prospect by 247Sports. Formby and Pulido could make a formidable pair for the Tide in the future.

Kelby Collins is a 6-foot-5, 280 pound defensive lineman out of Gardendale High School. He's seen as one of the best prospects in the state of Alabama. The Tide missed on Peter Woods, snagging Collins could be a great addition to the 2023 class.

Miles McVay is a 6-foot-6, 358 pound offensive tackle out of East St. Louis High School in Illinois. 247Sports considers him a 4-star prospect and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Illinois. He's coming to Tuscaloosa on an official visit for the Texas A&M game on Oct. 8 and is considering Alabama, Michigan State, Oregon, Texas A&M and others.

Richard Young is a 5-star running back from Florida. 247Sports considers him the No. 2 overall tailback in the class and he would make a great addition to the Alabama backfield. The Tide already secured Justice Haynes' commitment, adding Young to the class as well would make for two talented tailbacks for Formby to block for in his Crimson Tide tenure.

The Alabama coaching staff is undoubtedly working hard to close down a great 2023 recruiting class but there may not be anyone better to galvanize the class than Formby. As a lifelong Tuscaloosa resident, he not only can sell his classmates on the football side of the recruitment, but he can sell them on all the great aspects of life in West Alabama.
