Imagine this: you're rushing to get your child out the door for school, but you're unsure if the bus is running late or has already passed. The uncertainty can be stressful, not just for you, but for your child’s safety and peace of mind.

To make mornings smoother and safer, Tuscaloosa City Schools (TCS) is launching a new app called Stopfinder, designed to keep parents fully informed about school bus transportation.

Beginning July 1st for the 2025-26 school year, this app will be the primary way to get real-time updates on your child’s bus route, including stop locations, pickup/drop-off times, and live tracking of the bus.

Parents can also set alerts, share access with caregivers, and message the Transportation Department directly through the app. Importantly, TCS will no longer use robocalls to notify families about delays or route changes. Stopfinder will be the only source for this critical information.

To ensure you’re ready, make sure your email address is updated in PowerSchool by June 1st. You'll receive a transportation survey via email, which must be completed to request bus service for the 2025-26 school year. Note that all students will be removed from bus routes over the summer, so reapplying is essential.

If your address changes during the break, visit your child’s school to update your information.

A tutorial video and more detailed instructions on how to use Stopfinder will be sent out soon. Don’t miss out. Download the app, stay informed, and keep your child safe.
