Tuscaloosa NAACP Hosts Juneteenth Parade & Celebration Festivities
The Tuscaloosa Branch of the NAACP will host the 2024 Annual Juneteenth Parade and Juneteenth Celebration in the Park on Saturday, June 15. Also, the “Living Legends” luncheon will be on Wednesday, June 19.
“Through events like the Juneteenth Celebration, we aim to foster a stronger sense of community and celebrate the enduring spirit and contributions of African Americans,” said the Tuscaloosa Branch of the NAACP.
Juneteenth Parade Information
The event will commence with a special parade, a vibrant display of the community's diversity and unity, showcasing organizations and groups from Tuscaloosa and neighboring counties. The parade route will begin at Westlawn Middle School and conclude at Shelton State's C.A. Fredd Campus.

Juneteenth Celebration in the Park
The celebration of freedom returns to Palmore Park, located at 3701 Fosters Ferry Road, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
This free, family-friendly event will offer live entertainment from The Locked Band, Anthony Noland, and DJ Tank Sinatra. Attendees can also enjoy food trucks, vendors, fun games, and a splash pad for kids courtesy of PARA. Event organizers encourage attendees to bring tents, chairs, grills, and coolers.
Juneteenth Living Legend Luncheon
The 2024 Living Legends honoree is Dr. Samory Pruitt. You can join the celebration for the Living Legend Luncheon on Wednesday, June 19, at Noon at Shelton State Community College located at 9500 Old Greensboro Road.
