A celebration of local talent will take place as the Tuscaloosa Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, will host the 2025 Young Artists Showcase on Sunday, April 13, at 3:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy and will highlight performances and artwork from area students.

Chartered in 1993, the Tuscaloosa Chapter regards the Young Artists Showcase as one of its hallmark annual events. The event, a community staple since 1997, will feature local middle school, high school, and college students.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy performances by the Westlawn Middle School String Orchestra and the Stillman College Choir, who will serve as special guests.

The showcase is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance by scanning the QR code provided on the event flyer.

“The Links, Incorporated, is an international, not-for-profit organization founded in 1946. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations, dedicated to enriching and sustaining the cultural and economic vitality of African Americans and people of African descent,” said the press release.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
