The Tuscaloosa County Office of Public Defender will host a rally for Black lives and racial justice on Thursday, June 11th.

The rally will be held at the sidewalk outside of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse located on Greensboro Avenue downtown and is set to begin at 5 p.m.

The Office of Public Defender invites anyone concerned about racial inequality within the justice system to attend. An event speaker will deliver a special message and will be followed by eight minutes and 48 seconds of silence in honor of George Floyd, a Black man murdered by Minneapolis Police.

Attendees are asked to bring protest signs but remember to practice social distancing and wear masks as a precaution against the novel Coronavirus.
