Tuscaloosa City Political Drama

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill told the Steve Shannon Morning Show that the Sonja McKinstry/Cassius Lanier
dispute is pure political drama.

Lanier won the recent Tuscaloosa city election for District 7 by 25 votes. One of the closest results in city history.

McKinstry says Lanier was not qualified to hold office on the date of the election. Lanier allegedly did not received an official pardon for past felony convictions. McKinstry has filed a complaint with the court.

Secretary of State Merrill sorted out the legal issues for the disputed council seat on the 953 Bear morning show.
