All Saints’ Sunday Service Set at Tuscaloosa Church
On Sunday, November 2, at 4 p.m., First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa invites the community to a heartfelt All Saints' Sunday Service of Remembrance and Celebration. “This meaningful worship service will honor the saints and provide comfort to the bereaved through sacred music, scripture, and prayer,” said the press release.
- The All Saints' Sunday Service of Remembrance and Celebration is a special worship event featuring combined choirs, musical ensembles, and New Orleans-style “Second Line.”
- Service led by the combined Sanctuary Choirs from First Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church, conducted by Music Directors Marjorie Johnston and Leslie Poss.
- Organists Jason Pedeaux and Michael Delfín will play First Presbyterian’s renowned Létourneau Pipe Organ.
- Musical highlights will include an offering from the combined Handbell Choirs, and a Wine Glass Ensemble will accompany the anthem “Stars” by Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds.
- Following the service, guests are invited to Warner Hall for a reception with hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, offering a time for fellowship and shared remembrance.
“This is a unique service that acknowledges the deep grief we all experience at the loss of family members or friends, yet culminates in joyful celebration of those we love but see no longer,” Johnston. “It is our hope that people from all religious backgrounds and denominations will feel understood and uplifted when they process out with us singing, 'Just a Closer Walk with Thee' with the Red Mountain Jazz Collective leading the way.”

First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa is located at 900 Greensboro Ave, Tuscaloosa, 35401.
