Tuscaloosa Academy Reveals State-of-the-Art Athletic Center Plans
Tuscaloosa Academy has been hinting at something big coming soon, and it looks like the wait is officially over. What's being called the most transformative project in the school’s history has been made public.
According to a press release sent to Townsquare Media, Tuscaloosa Academy is stepping into the future with a brand-new campaign to create a 23,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Athletic Center, designed by Ward Scott.
“This is more than a building—it’s an investment in every student’s experience and the future of our school community,” Head of School Beckie Share said in the release. “Our students are thriving in academics, the arts, and athletics, and now it’s time for our facilities to reflect the caliber of our programs and the size of our ambitions.”

This is all part of a public launch of what's being called Building Excellence: A Campaign for the Future of Tuscaloosa Academy. The goal of this facility is to transform the way TA students, families, and fans gather, practice, and compete.
According to the press release, the new Athletic Center will include:
• Regulation-size tournament gymnasium for competitions, tournaments, PE classes, practices, and indoor play.
•Locker rooms for home and visiting teams.
• Football field house to accommodate the entire team and support training, camaraderie, and success on and off the field.
• Fully outfitted weight room for strength training, injury prevention, and athletic development for all sports.
The goal of this campaign is to raise $6.5 million, and so far, $4.5 million has already been committed thanks to early supporters.
Building Excellence represents Tuscaloosa Academy’s enduring commitment to preparing students for success while strengthening the foundation of the entire community.
