A little over a year ago Tua Tagovailoa was faced with biggest decision of his life. After dislocating his hip vs Mississippi State questions immediately swirled around his choice to stay for another year or take his talent to the big boy league.

Fast forward to November 1st, 2020 and he’s proved himself right as he earned not only his first NFL start, but also a victory and the first touchdown pass of a promising career.

On a 3rd and goal trailing late in the first quarter, Tua’s first NFL touchdown was very reminiscent of his 87 TDS at the University of Alabama. Timely, precise, and much needed. A perfect throw right to the outside shoulder of Davonte Parker on a quick slant seemed to ignite the whole team as both offensive and defensive players went out of the way to congratulate him on the milestone.

Many were shocked when Brian Flores decided to go a couple of weeks ago, opting to bench a serviceable quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick to start Tagovailoa. Especially with the Dolphins being in playoff contention and the following week having to face a Rams team that featured Jalen Ramsey and an all-time great in Aaron Donald.

But hey, scared money don’t make money.

In fact, Tua is a productive of gutsy moves like these. Remember 2 and 26?

Flores has elected to start the Tagovailoa era and has a 28-13 win to show for it. With the Tide community backing him 100% of the way, Tua has officially arrived.
