Developer and business mogul Stan Pate has been an outspoken advocate that Tuscaloosa elect “Anybody But Walt” in Tuesday’s mayoral election. You’ve probably seen the billboards.

Pate told the 953 Bear Steve Shannon Morning Show that he’s sending Tuscaloosa residents mailers with a message. “Time For A Crime Fighter Not A Talker” with the number of Tuscaloosa murders during Walt’s time in office. Also, a mailer contrasting the Downtown YMCA that Walt allegedly uses and the West End YMCA. And finally the “You Can’t Trust Peeping Walt” mailer.
Pate accuses Walt of ordering surveillance cameras on all city garbage trucks.

What is the origin of the Stan Pate/Walt Maddox political feud? That remains a multi-million dollar question.
